9/8/17 Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks Ongoing

Hits: 91

Rather than clutter the blog with many Herkimer poison gas attacks entries, we’ll be updating this living document. It will end when either we or the attacks do.

Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks 9/8/17 Update

After a brief break, the Herkimer poison gas attacks have resumed. Our house at 330 Pleasant Avenue Herkimer remains the target. We’re obviously under hostile 24/7 observation from all sides. Attacks occur shortly after we open a door or window, step outside or leave the house. Or apparently just to freshen the envelope of poison surrounding us: Birds and squirrels wisely stay away from the death zone that is ours and our neighbors’ yards.

There seems to be a dim attempt by the depraved scum poisoning Herkimer Village to avoid the sort of mass gassing attacks which first sickened us and our neighbors. The filth seem to be limiting the frequency and duration of their attacks. But no matter how delusional one is, gas just doesn’t stay where you want. There are almost always innocent neighbors and kids near our house when its gassed. These attacks have been going on since at least July and the long term health effects can be devastating.

Herkimer Murder Weapon of Choice – Stealth Pesticide Poisoning

Stealth  poisoning by pesticides, we’ve argued, has long been used as a murder weapon here in the Herkimer area–people just pass away. Especially older people. They pass away from cancer, leukemia, endocrine disruption, respiratory distress, non Hodgkins Lymphoma. Since we shared our suspicions and data with authentic law enforcement, poisoning continues, but all attempts at subtlety have been abandoned.

We appreciate the Herkimer Police’s sincere and very visible efforts to end Herkimer’s narco terrorism, but until the gas attackers’ paymaster is arrested or sent packing, attacks will continue. And we’ll continue blogging about them. herkimerpost.com already enjoys a large following. And it’s growing, as people research potential climate change relocation venues. As Herkimer’s only news source that isn’t a happy hour, we’re getting a lot of landing page hits from ip addresses in US coastal areas. Unlikely those folks be moving to Herkimer, where gangs remain free to poison homeowners

Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks Choke Development and Real Estate Sales

What was recently bustling redevelopment and brisk home sales along Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue remain dead:

  • 329 Pleasant Avenue. Vacant. All work halted when we first reported gas attacks. Lower window broken–were boarded yesterday during a brief visit. We assume the new owner is awaiting safer times.
  • 328 Pleasant Avenue. Vacant. Appears ready for market. Owner Harriett Tangorra was going to list it, but warned of the gas attacks, some from her backyard, is apparently holding off.
  • 316 Pleasant Avenue. Vacant. For sale. Listing price dropped form $49k to 39K since gas attacks began.
  • 343 Eureka Avenue. Vacant. Was being quickly-but-well gut renovated when gas attacks hit South Herkimer. No work done since. 343 Eureka suffers from being next to Sykes gang head Stanley Sykes’ 341 Eureka Ave. 341’s parking lot appears to be the epicenter of many poison gas attacks.

Recent Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks

We’re pretty buttoned down, so we may not detect some gas attacks. All unless otherwise noted, appear to use odorless Deltamethrin, a pyrethroid insecticide.

9/8/17 0730-0830  Fogging of driveway and front of house. Kids on street for school bus pick up.

9/7 1930 fogging of driveway.

Approximately same time, alley between 330 (our house) and 332 Pleasant fogged from Sykes Gang parking lot.

9/6 Late night/early a.m. – Organophosphate (banned neurotoxin insecticide ) heavily streamed from Pleasant Avenue or sidewalk through street-facing bedroom window. Window open about 1 inch.

9/6 1800-1830 Driveway fogged.

9/6 1510 Returned from shopping. driveway had been fogged.

9/4 1207 Probably drive-by fogging from small black car with hand fogger.

Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks 8/31 Update

The poison gas attacks on us have eased but not ended. There was a light drive-by misting of our driveway yesterday, 8/30, between 0700 and 0715, possibly involving a red motorcycle. And an abortive drive-by spray attack last night at 2332, thwarted when wife Linda spotted the oncoming vehicle and slammed shut the window. (Pleasant Avenue has been vitally empty of traffic at night.) The vehicle ducked into 331 Pleasant Avenue’s empty driveway. 329 is empty and that driveway’s become the street’s pirate cove. Without prompting the driver shouted “You’re paranoid!” (No spray, no pay. Pity.)

Someone within the last few days appears to have streamed an organophosphate from the rear of unoccupied 328 Pleasant Avenue up our driveway at our front porch door. Not owning a $1,000+ chemical analyzer, I sampled the small affected area with my fingers and had a mild reaction typical of organophosiate exposure.

Some arrests would do wonders to end these attacks.

8/30

Today marks the first month anniversary of the ongoing poison gas attacks against us, and by extension, our neighbors, here on Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue. (Names are not always destiny.) Prime suspects: The Stanley Sykes gang resident at 334 Pleasant Ave and 341 Eureka Ave. (Oddly, these are the Jay Smith rental properties from which many of the gas attacks seem to originate.) The Sykes gang doesn’t like our surveillance cameras, our defiance, or our blog highlighting their trafficking and attempts to dominate the street.

The poison gas attacks weapon of choice is a number of small battery powered insecticide foggers used to mist poisonous vapors from neighboring yards and passing vehicles. These are supplemented by the occasional streaming of an organophosphate neurotoxin at our windows, using ground-based crop dusters. Nerve gasses derived from organophosphates are Sarinsoman, and VX.

Herkimer police seem baffled.

8/29 Gassings

Today: 1330 (approx) odorless poisonous misting attack from direction of 326-328 Pleasant Avenue (rear).

8/28 1430. As above. Observed Sykes gang member known to us as Glowering Goat Beard walk by on his way from Sykes gang center at 334 Pleasant Avenue to 326 Pleasant Avenue, about five minutes before the poison gas rolled in.

No drive-by gassings noted within the last 24 hours.

8/28 Posting

Update of of yesterday’s posting to reflect 3 poison gas attacks of 8/27 and today. Front and backyards still toxic. Birds now can be heard in the distance. A squirrel braved the top of the fence today on the 328 Pleasant side. A cat started down our driveway, then changed its mind. Someone moved a camera covering the Sykes’ parking lot out of position.

8/27 0724 Odorless misting attack from direction of 334 Pleasant Avenue rear. Bullet camera on back porch roof covering 332-334 Pleasant Ave rear area swung out of position. Camera had to have been approached from  of 328 Pleasant Ave. side, currently vacant.

8/27 2330 (approx) Probable organophosphate briefly streamed from Pleasant Ave at our front bedroom windows. I heard it hitting–sounds like rain pelting on the glass. Search of camera footage showed nothing. Could have been either from a vehicle or a backpack insecticide dispenser. Though it wasn’t as long, this is what an organophosphate attack looks like.

8/28 0100-0700 Organophosphate streamed at our bathroom exhaust fan from 334-332 Pleasant rear/341 Eureka rear parking area. Fan was on at the time.  Camera still out of position, so no video.

About Our Cameras

We’re revisiting our camera architecture and positioning. The current installation grew from 1 wireless camera covering our car to 12 cameras. The wireless ip camera architecture is fine for covering one’s car and porch. It’s inadequate for monitoring attacks by Herkimer’s Army of the Shuffling Dead.

8/27 Posting

8/27 We’ll be posting updates about the ongoing Herkimer poison gas attacks on us here at 330 Pleasant Avenue.  Symptoms are the same as in previous attacks: nausea, dizziness, immune system reactions.

Drive by’s have not been noted since 8/19. Gassings now appear to be occurring from 330 Pleasant Avenue, often as Joyce Barton backs out of her driveway and turns down Pleasant Avenue. And from the parking lot between 341 Eureka and 334 Pleasant Avenue when Stanley Sykes (red SUV) is present. May also be occurring from 334 Pleasant Avenue rear. Our continued existence, with cameras, on Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue is apparently affecting the Sykes gang and their longtime ally Joyce Barton’s desire to traffic unimpeded from 334 Pleasant Avenue and 341 Eureka Avenue – as in the good ‘ol days.

We assume from this that hired-hand gassers have been deterred by increased law enforcement presence; gassing attack responsibility has now shifted to the principals.

Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks – Observed Behavior

Attacks from 330 Pleasant Avenue are preceded by disappearance of residents of 334 Pleasant Avenue and Sykes-Bass family members from the parking lot.

Details of Most Recent Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks

8/19   0024 drive by gas attack – Very heavy attack. White van. Van stopped in front of Bass-Sykes gang stronghold of 334 Pleasant for a moment. (No flashers this time.) 330 Pleasant and adjacent area heavily contaminated by odorless pesticide with the same symptomatology as in previous gassings. Sykes and Bass crew at 334 Pleasant and 341 Eureka Avenue had left at 1800. Also missing from this mega attack were the Joyce and Douglas Barton of 330 Pleasant.

Video and full report sent to State Police and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC): NYSDEC appears to have committed full resources following confirmation of contamination and poisoning agent hypotheses on our blog.

8/26 01000200 Odorless gas on 330 Pleasant from direction 326-328 Pleasant Ave (rear). Target was driveway kitchen window facting 328 Pleasant.

8/26 1020 Odorless gas on 330 Pleasant from direction 326-328 Pleasant Ave (rear): Attack coincident with return of Bass-Sykes crew and from opposite direction of their homes. Numerous surveillance drones appeared that night.

8/23 1300-1500 Gassings of 330 Pleasant Avenue from street and from the direction of the Stanley Sykes’ parking lot. (341 Eureka rear). Same odorless pesticide.

8/23 9:40 pm Same as at 1300-1500

8/24 1700 Odorless gas from 341 Eureka/334 Pleasant Ave parking lot.

We’ll be having a look at the Who and Why of these heinous attacks in our next postings.

Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks & Stanley Sykes’ Backpack Empire

Hits: 314

by Stephen Ames Berry

Herkimer drug dealer Stanley Sykes greets incoming out-of-town drug mule
Herkimer Syke’s gang head Stanley Sykes, AKA Bob Sykes, greets arriving out-of-town drug mule before taking him on to his next destination. Looks like the Syke’s gang’s running the Herkimer’s way station of a large backpack narcotics distribution network designed to foil aerial observation.

We understand why the criminals who believe they own the Village of Herkimer want us dead.:Our blog and street cameras have helped lessen drug trafficking along Herkimer’s notorious Pleasant Avenue. We’ve pinpointed trafficking and traffickers, arsonists and wanna-be arsonists. We’ve disposed of several street harassers and gotten a few folks locked up who thought it ok to assault seniors in the street.

We pride ourselves on having helped spark Herkimer’s current home sales boom–drawing national attention to the village’s ideal location and surrounding beauty in a time of climate change. The tragedy of Houston will send many folks north seeking improved climate safety.

Of course Herkimer’s shrinking criminal population hates us. They’ve long considered Herkimer a safe haven and Pleasant Avenue their own. Especially the parking lot and houses owned by landlord Jay Smith. 334 Pleasant Avenue and 341 Eureka Avenue, currently occupied by the Stanley Sykes gang, have a long tradition as a clandestine trafficking haven. The Sykes gang feels menaced by the prosperity creeping toward them down Pleasant Avenue including the major home renovation make overs at 331 and 328 Pleasant Ave. Al Murray’s garbage strewn lot has been purchased by a neighbor and now features grass, not trash. Pleasant Avenue is experiencing a return to its former state of quiet village charm.

From what we’ve seen, the Sykes gang tried wholesale trafficking out of the parking lot and 334 Pleasant Avenue in the traditional way, with vehicles. Guess that didn’t go well. Too obvious. Surveillance drones can quickly determine drug trafficking patterns and traffickers. Most people don’t want to see a return to the wild days on Pleasant Avenue when Joyce Barton was undisputed queen of the  street’s bustling trafficking.

Some of Herkimer’s Sykes Gang’s Drug Delivery Vehicles

Two of the vehicles typically used by Herkimer’s Sykes gang to traffic out of Carrie Ann Bass’ rented house at 334 Pleasant Avenue Herkimer. (As with all Sykes gang rentals, a Jay Smith property.) Carrie Ann is allegedly Sykes’ daughter-in-law.

Stanley Sykes’ Gang Niche Drug Market: Backpack Drug Muling

Stanley Sykes, AKA Bob Sykes, may have found a niche market: backpack drug distribution. Backpacks have long been used to move narcotics around Herkimer. But it seems the Sykes gang has become a franchisee within a large network that mules narcotics on backs from town to town. Hard to spot and follow from surveillance drones. Stanley’s been doing a brisk business, building a backpack empire:

The pattern in the video’s clear: backpackers bring the drugs into Herkimer, arriving for distribution at Carrie Bass’ 344 Pleasant Avenue. (Bass is the mother of Stanley’s grandson Harvey, and herself a belligerent street harasser. Harvey’s dad is absent on a heroin trafficking charge.) Stanley Sykes, AKA Bob Sykes, greets and transports them locally or to their next destination. Sometimes the contraband they bring remains, crossing Pleasant Avenue to Joyce Barton’s at 333, coming back to 334 in bags and packs for local distribution. Or parceled out to allies along the street an din the village.)

Herkimer’s Hardest Working Teen

The teen at the end of the above video is seen everywhere in Herkimer Village. He’s a hard working, no-nonsense go-getter. Though at the end of the video, you’ll see he did have some time off. Here’s the outtake:

Viewers of our videos may recognize Jesse McClaren walking with the young backpacker. Jesse soared to YouTube fame as Herkimer’s Historic Crack House Keeper. Like Stanley Syke’s daughter Kyra, he was later arrested for assaulting an elderly war vet. (Me.)

It’s videos like Stanley Sykes’ Backpack Empire and analysis like this that helped end Pleasant Avenue’s wholesale drug trafficking. And put Herkimer on the map. They’ve also caused Stanley Sykes, AKA Bob Sykes, to diversify to an a nearby alternate location, known only to the Sykes gang and government surveillance drones.

Drug Gang Poisons South Herkimer

Street thug tactics succeeded in getting Sykes’ daughter Kyra arrested for criminal harassment. Retaliatory pesticides then began streaming and misting into our yard and windows from Stanley’s parking area, Pleasant Avenue and the rear of another Jay Smith rental a few doors down.

An onslaught of drive-by misting attacks poisoned not only us and our home, but our neighbors and their children too. The poison mists generated from a witches brew of at least three pesticides drifted for blocks in the muggy August air, sickening people and pets. NYDEC became involved. Law enforcement virtually embargoed Pleasant Avenue. Surveillance drones still fill the skies. Yet as recently as 0724 this morning, fresh pesticide misted in from the direction of 334 Pleasant Avenue rear.

Our attackers took their poisoning preparations seriously. Here’s a Sykes gang member (whom we refer to as Glowering Goat Beard), and what seems a consultant, inspecting the target area of our home. (The helmet should go on before coming into camera range, not after.)

Artsy Practical DIY Renovation Examples

artsy kitchen bar by Linda Kaidan

High end DIY custom bar – Under $50

I would like to brag about my new DIY custom bar. It fits exactly in the spot I allocated and is 2 ft. wide, 4 feet long and 34 inches high. The top is a piece of ¾ inch oak plywood purchased at Lowes for $18. I stained it with red maple Johnson’s Mini wax purchased at ACE (next to Aldi’s) in Ilion for $7.50. I sealed it with 2 coats of polyurethane for about $2 (using less than ¼ pint). The single leg is hairpin midcentury style purchased on Amazon for $22. It took about 2 hours to construct including corrections for certain errors. The only tools required were an electric drill and bit, manual screw driver and a level. I used 4 #6 screws (best to use ¾ inch length).  The total cost for this artsy practical DIY renovation is $49.50.

Interior doorway – An artsy practical DIY Renovation for Free!

The interior open doorway was created through a subtractive rather than an additive process. I chipped away at plasterboard to reveal the underlying structure rather than covering the rough opening with wood. The festive doorway decoration was created using an old Guess skirt with really nice fabric that no one wanted to buy from me :0. The fish medallion was an old present from my daughters. During the process of plaster chipping, I was surprised by a flying bit which got stuck in my eye; so make sure you use safety glasses! The total cost of this delightful doorway was my favorite price – zero dollars.

Entryway coat rack – $3

artsy coat rack by Linda Kaidan

At the front door, I used a strip of 1 inch x ¾ inch x 4ft pine left over from another project. I added 6 very inexpensive hooks which can be purchased in quantity for $3 to $5 to create miscellaneous storage for coats and other random items. The total cost was $3. The art in this photo was created by Linda Kaidan and Alexandra Kaidan Berry and can be purchased at our 2Kaidans store on Etsy.com for $15 and under per print. We appreciate your business!

Herkimer Gang’s Poison Gas Attacks Halt Development

Hits: 871

by Stephen Ames Berry

On 8/13, the ongoing poison gas attacks by our depraved neighbors on Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue forced a halt to renovation of 328 Pleasant Avenue as workers downed tools and headed out. Pleasant Avenue has recently enjoyed an upswing in real estate sales and development as the Herkimer housing market continues to boom. People are, however, reluctant to continue working if they’re being gassed. Which is what happened at Harriett Tangorra’s 328 Pleasant Avenue property on August 13th – twice!

Double Feature – Two Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks in 8 Hours

There were two gas attacks intended for us and our yard on 8/13. Both were from 328 Pleasant Avenue, which is currently vacant and under renovation. They poisoned both areas.

Like the gas attack on us of 7/28, the first attack on 8/13 was delivered by an organophosphate pesticide. It streamed in an arch entering our yard from the rear of 328 Pleasant Avenue. It was likely from the same agricultural crop dispenser used in the 7/28 attack.  The perpetrator of this crime may have been close by – possibly a night owl neighbor. Note the fire in the adjacent yard at 326 Pleasant Avenue burning brightly during the attack. (Upper left of video.)

Organophospahtes such as diazinon are neurotoxins and used in making of Sarin nerve gas. They’ve been banned, but are still around, as they kill well.

The second attack of the morning 8/13–watch carefully, end of video–was the toxic mist seen creeping in from 328’s driveway. It inevitably spread further but invisibly into 328’s yard and our own. And in through our kitchen window. (We know the symptoms.)

The mist was odorless and probably the pesticide Deltamethrin, given its effects, and dispensed from a small handheld fogger. The intent is to poison our yard, and ourselves through any open windows. And also to sicken the workmen currently renovating 328 Pleasant Avenue. Herkimer’s criminals know the ongoing renovations and booming home sales will force them out, and are trying to stop developers from continuing to improve Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue, which until recently they long controlled. For now they’ve succeeded: the owner’s carpenters retreated from 328 Pleasant Avenue after they and the owner were warned. Haven’t seen them again as of this posting. Both yards have lingering toxicity.

A Typical Herkimer Drive-by Gas Attack

Here’s a drive-by poison gas attack on us  on at our Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue home. We’ve been subjected to these drive-by poison gas attacks since mid-July. They occur numerous times a day, usually triggered when we open any window or enter our yard. During the brazen daytime attacks, side door swung wide for spraying convenience.

When you watch the video you can see a trace of the poison mist being dispensed from the open side door of the passing van. (In front of driveway). There are two vehicles involved. The 2nd one passes through the toxic fog, causing a ripple affect. Occupants of both vehicles stop at the end of Pleasant Avenue for a chat.

Use of Hand Foggers in Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks

Typically in these heinous attacks a handheld fogger is used to dispense a concentrated, odorless pesticide whose toxic symptoms are consistent with Deltamethrin. Previously the scum were using an orange-scented pesticide of the pyrethrin family, until one evening they used so much they gassed a lot of people mid-Pleasant Avenue.

334 Pleasant Avenue and Flashers of Gas Attack Victory

Whenever  drive-by poison gas attacks occur, day or night, the attacking vehicle often stops afterward a few doors down, in front of the Carrie Bass – Sykes gang commerce hub at 334 Pleasant Avenue, and flashes its lights in victory. (Natural selection in action.) I can see 334 from from where I usually sit. When I see the flashers, I shut the window. Otherwise I’d be poisoned, as my unsuspecting law-abiding neighbors at 335 Pleasant Ave have been. The Stanley Sykes’ gang members, forewarned, either leave or seal themselves in the parking lot houses they rent from Jay Smith.
Herkimer authorities are aware of the use of poison mist, but remain mystified.

Herkimer Poison Gas Attacks – Aftermath

Here’s a video of the aftermath of one of many Herkimer poison gas attacks that have affected not just us but also our Pleasant Avenue neighbors. This street cam footage is from a few moments after I smelled the unmistakable sicky-sweet orange odor of Pyrethrin insecticide mist through my front windows. Dizziness, facial numbness and respiratory distress followed.

The immediate effects of Pyrethrin poisoning are difficulty breathing, coughing, nausea, allergic reactions, stinging in the eyes, itching and swollen lymph glands. Prolonged exposure can cause paralysis and death. Anyone with ongoing immune system and allergy issues often needs immediate medical attention. Which is what appears to have happened to the woman here across the street at 335 Pleasant Avenue, a large multi-family dwelling.

Help Herkimer Police Find a Poisoner

How was the toxin delivered? Play detective-someone should. There are some clues in the video: a moving car and a man walking from across the street. Immediately after the attack, the man goes through the parking lot to Stanley Sykes’ house at 341 Eureka, and quickly returns. Stanley, king of the Pleasant Avenue parking lot, is an experienced businessman and knows you get only half up front, the rest upon delivery.

Herkimer Real Estate Boom Stalled by Drug Gang? Really?

Since July, we and our Pleasant Avenue neighbors  been under ongoing poison gas attack by a local drug trafficking gang trying to  keep a toehold on our street.  People have been sickened. Pets have been killed. These thugs have the morality and tenacity of head lice. They’re not hard to find. They operate out of two rental houses on a parking lot mid-block, as well as secondary location not far away. When not avoiding their own gassing attacks, they traffic brazenly.

Herkimer Village authorities, as is traditional, appear unconcerned with the fate of Pleasant Avenue. (“Oh. It’s Pleasant Avenue.”) These heinous attacks occur multiple times a day, using small, easily concealed insecticide foggers. Poison is misted about,  sprayed from passing vehicles, adjacent yards and by pedestrians. The foggers have a range of 30+ feet and are hard to spot. Attackers? The gang members and area’s low-criminal types who mule meth, crack and heroin. They’re all known to the Herkimer police.

Herkimer home sale prices have doubled in the last year. The village is on the brink of resurgence as retirees move north rather than south. Herkimer’s small, ideally located and with limited property. Pleasant Avenue has some of the biggest, well-built 19th century homes in the area. Local developers are eager to renovate them.  For the moment, though, they’ve faded. It’s time Herkimer to clear the air along Pleasant Avenue.

Ongoing Herkimer Pesticide Attacks: Sad Remains

By Linda Kaidan

Pesticides dissolve biological tissue

At first glance what you see is a lovely close-up of hollyhock blossom. But just zoom in and you’ll see the corroded carcasses of insects. Whichever variety of pesticides our attackers are using, these insects were killed “real good”. They’re partially dissolved and fused to the plants they were unfortunate enough to lite upon.

Destruction of lipid layer leads to nerve paralysis

What chemical process has dissolved them? What do you think this substance is doing to your throat and lungs when you breath it? Such toxic substances can destroy the lipid layer of human skin tissue and paralyze human nerves (Advances in Physical Ergonomics and Human Factors: Part 223). A major characteristic of ongoing Herkimer pesticide poisoning attacks can be observed by taking a close look at vegetation here on Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue. In the closeup of the hollyhock below – you can see the mangled bodies of 2 insects.

Herkimer pesticide attacks

Urban terror causes widespread side effects

This is a urban terrorism. Our attackers are somewhat stealthy and are spraying an array of lethal toxins onto the plants, animals and ground surfaces. Effects may be felt immediately or may take some time. A sad result is the lingering illness and deaths they’re causing in humans and a multitude of animals. Cats for example, formerly numerous here have become nearly extinct in the past few days.

By planting many wild flowers in my garden, I’ve attracted a healthy and varied bee population, now sadly decimated by Herkimer’s pesticide terrorists who threaten human, plant and animal existence by creating a venomous and toxic environment.

Herkimer pesticide poisoning terrorism should be easy to stop

These poisoning attacks are taking place multiple times throughout the day, every day here on Pleasant Avenue in Herkimer, NY. Terrorists are tough to capture because they operate in stealth. But I fail to see why a well-placed drone can’t help identify the likely suspects. Let’s catch these terrorist poisoners!

Gas Attacks Endangering All In South Herkimer

Hits: 115

Toxic Mists Adrift On Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue?

Gas attacks endangering all in South Herkimer.  Toxic mists are adrift on Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue and sickening many, the result of the latest poison gas attacks on us using pesticides. They’d be a  witches brew of several airborne poisons gasses. The signs and symptoms of the likely agents, Pyrethrin and Deltamethrin, are highlighted below.

Summary of Latest Herkimer Poisoning Attacks

Over the last 5 days depraved scum have streamed and fogged us here in Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue with three different pesticides. The first attack, captured on camera, used an organophosphate, a cousin of Sarin gas. It’s the same virulent poison used in previous attacks on us, notably last February’s The other two are probably Pyrethrin and Deltamethrin. (See below.)

They began on 7/29 with a pesticide streamed into our bedroom air conditioner as we slept. The attack was recorded by one of our security cameras. That having failed to dispose of us, the criminals then moved on to use the two other pesticides. These poisons were repeatedly fogged as mist. They were used heavily and indiscriminately, and may have spread from our property down Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue. Their symptoms are consistent with Pyrethrin poisoning and Deltamethrin poisoning. The most recent attack was within the last 24 hours, a repeat dosing with Deltamethrin . From what we overheard yesterday evening along Pleasant Avenue, some of our neighbors have also been sickened by one or both of these heinous attacks.

Pyrethrin: Poison Mist With Sicky-Sweet Orange Odor

If you live on or near Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue, and have smelled a sicky-sweet orange smell these past few weeks, especially at night, you may have been exposed to a pyrethrin pesticide. It would have been fogged toward or on our property late at night as a mist, using a portable fogger. The cheaper of these foggers are easily concealed in backpacks and vehicles, and have a range of at least 30 feet. Then comes the breeze.

We can absorb pyrethrin by breathing, touching or eating a contaminated surface. It is unlikely the poisoners bothered to dilute the insecticide. In our case, pyrethrin was misted onto our front garden and toward our open front bedroom windows. And then probably gently drifted down Pleasant Avenue. Our backyard was also misted.

Symptoms of Pyrethrin Poisoning

Our symptoms were: difficulty breathing, coughing, nausea, allergic reactions, stinging in the eyes, itching and swollen lymph glands. Depending upon the level of toxicity and length of exposure, symptoms may also include tongue and lip numbness, drooling, lethargy, muscle tremors, respiratory failure, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, paralysis, and death.

Infants and small children are especially at risk from pyrethrin poisons. Cats frequently die from exposure to pyrethrin. Their livers are unable to process the toxin.

Herkimer Poisoners Sprayed Pyrethrin Numerous Times Over Several Weeks

We believe our property and Herkimer’s Pleasant Avenue were dosed numerous times over a several week period. The pungent orange order of pyrethrin is unmistakable.

If you’ve experience symptoms of pyrethrin poisoning, seek medical attention. Tell doctor’s you suspect pyrethrin/pyrethroids poisoning. The chemical can only be detected by blood or urine tests for a few days after you’ve been poisoned. And call the Herkimer County Health Department. Our depraved criminal neighbors weren’t trying to kill you. But they wouldn’t care if they did.

Deltamethrin – A New Poison Released on Herkimer

Yesterday our attempted killers became aware that we’d outed their stealth pyrethrin attacks to the New York State Police, which passed our information on the Herkimer Police. Overnight our attackers switched to odorless Deltamethrin, a pyrethroid insecticide. Certainly we’ve since experienced some of the symptoms of Deltamethrin poisoning: stinging of the eyes, dizziness, itching skin, rashes. Symptoms may also include including burning, partial numbness, “pins and needles”, skin crawling, and different abnormal sensations of the face and lips.

Deltamethrin dissipates quickly. It is, however, a neurotoxin, and attacks the central nervous system. It’s absorb by breast milk and can be passed on to nursing infants. Use the same precautions as with suspected pyrethroid poisoning

Diazinon – Organophasphate Poisoning of 7/29/17

On 7/29, as we lay sleeping, our 2nd floor bedroom air conditioner was streamed with a high-volume agriculture pesticide dispenser. The same Organophasphate — possily Diazinon– was used in a previous, larger attack on us in February. This latest lasted  10-20 seconds and was captured on one of our cameras, installed two feet above the a/c unit.  The poison was streamed from the rear of 328 Pleasant Avenue, which has been vacant for several months. (328 Pleasant Ave is known worldwide as Herkimer’s former Curtis Cool residence.)

Hopefully the current winds and rains will dissipate the toxins. No guarantee they will, or that the attacks won’t resume. Any official response to what’s morphed into a Herkimer mass gas attack will probably have to wait until this weekend Herkimer Diamond Days festivities end.

Dramatic Climate Events Compel Rapid Community Action

Community climate change action needed now

Recent alarming dramatic climate events alert us about the urgent need for climate change action at the community level. 18% of the Antarctic’s Larsen C Ice Shelf has separated, triggering the migration and melting of a trillion-ton iceberg the size of Delaware. More of the ice shelf will follow.  Then a few days ago, a significant part of Lakeland, Florida disappeared into a watery sinkhole as Lakeland’s lakes continue to expand. It’s time to get serious about how much time we have left to prepare for the natural and human effects of rapid climate change.

On a very basic level, in the long term we need four things to survive: air, water, food and energy. Because of Herkimer’s ideal climate change location, we have  these climate change survival resources in abundance. But now with accelerating glacial melting, faster-rising oceans and the rapid decrease in nature’s ability to cool our planet, it’s time to take action. Change is coming and it’s coming fast. We must begin now to restructure how we live, both individually and collectively if we’re to beat this storm.

We can overcome many CLIMATE CHANGE issues at the community level

Growing food near home year-round is something most of us can participate in. Hoop houses can be inexpensively constructed and extend the growing season. We have many empty buildings near Herkimer’s village center that can be used for hydroponic indoor gardening. Community garden space should be allocated to all residents who wish to participate.

CLIMATE change – Living smarter, living smaller

We can solve the dual problems of energy consumption and housing for those inevitably relocating to Central New York due to coastal flooding. Herkimer’s many large older houses can come into play as inland migration grows.  We can adapt our living needs to smaller spaces, and prepare to share our homes and the cost of operating them with others. Living smaller is a national trend and a sustainable model, as illustrated by the increasing popularity of affordable micro homes in NYC and California.

Even here, high temperatures may become an issue far sooner than expected. We should consider how we can lower temperatures by creating more shade from the sun. Hopefully in the near future we can use nano-satellites to decrease accelerating temperatures. But lower cost low tech options are available as well. We can plant more trees in open spaces and create underground areas for improved insulation from heat. An inexpensive way to do this is with shipping containers. This couple in California created a solar powered, underground shipping container home for only $30,000.  In 104 F temperatures, the indoor temperature is only 80 F with no air conditioning (24 degrees cooler!).

Everyone can make a difference

“Not much we can do about it” is defeatist. There is so much we can do about it! So – let’s get started! If you’d like to form an action committee for repurposing unused buildings for indoor gardening, planting trees, community gardening, or you have a good idea about something else please contact me at linda.ljanek@gmail.com.

I hope to hear from you!

Climate change projected to improve Herkimer NY economy

Hits: 85

by Linda Kaidan

Loss of GDP caused by climate change predicted to be widespread across US

Yesterday’s New York Times discussed damage to our economy likely to be caused by climate change. Herkimer County NY (see above map)  is likely to have GDP growth of at least 5% per year rather than GDP decline. This is indicated by the dark green color on the map. Similar advantages of climate are shared by west Alaska, adjacent Hamilton County and Maine.

Climate Change DEMOGRAPHICS will transform herkimer

The Herkimer Post’s recent review of Herkimer’s soaring home sales strongly hints that retirees who might once have moved South are relocating to Central New York, and especially to conveniently-located Herkimer. Given increasingly refined and alarming climate change figures, this migration trend’s likely to accelerate.

There’s little residential construction in Herkimer and the supply of available housing is small. Competition for existing homes will become brisk. Buyers of vacation homes may also be turning their eyes from the sandy but imperiled Atlantic and Gulf beach communities north to the Mohawk Valley and Southern Adirondacks.

A critical mass of middle and upper-middle-class home buyers inevitably transform a community. Landlords either sell out or renovate properties to appeal to affluent newcomers. Empty storefronts become shops again. The police become responsive and the streets safe as criminals move on, no longer tolerated and unable to make a living. We saw this transformation happen in Boston’s Roxbury and Charlestown, and we’re seeing it begin here in Herkimer.

Promising new technologies can reduce greenhouse gas

This map projection of the future is likely to be optimistic–climate change becomes more erratic and costly every year. Yet there are many technologies that will help combat this devastating process. As our president continues to deny climate change, some technology innovators are filling the gap left by ineffectual governance.

Bill Gates is heading a $1 billion venture fund supporting development of clean energy technology, Breakthrough Energy Ventures. Co-founders include Jeff Bezos and Richard Brandon. The goal of the fund is to build companies that will provide affordable emissions-free energy. Gates is personally investing $1 billion in startups and companies starting this year.

Climeworks, a new Swiss company hopes to extract 1% of worldwide CO2 from the atmosphere by 2025. Company founders Christoph Gebald and Jan Wurzbacher invented a Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology while students at ETH Zurich. They have lowered the cost of CO2 extraction from the air to less than $600 per ton. Climeworks envisions that they can create 250,000 plants by 2025.

Reducing greenhouse gases is essential to the planet’s survival, but blocking the sun may buy some time. Today there are over 375 operational nanosatellites in space, which may help us to find and improve climate change solutions. As the earth grows ever hotter, it makes sense to consider moving to those green places on the map which are the most sustainable to live in, places like Herkimer, NY.

compete with robot furniture – Two rooms in one for less

It’s easy to compete with robot furniture

Designers and engineers are working on user-friendly ways to live in smaller spaces. Robotic furniture that moves with gestures is now being created. We can see from this video that the results are impressive. Yet they are likely to be costly, at least in the beginning. For now, there are easier ways to create flexible, multiple purpose rooms that are simple to reconfigure at a very low price.

Living room and bedroom in one that you can take camping

Pretty soon, engineered mobile systems developed at MIT will bring this new furniture technolgy into our homes. But until then, we can benefit by the ideas of multi-use space saving flexibility. Here are my ideas on a simple way to achieve this goal and provide almost the same flexibility at MUCH LOWER PRICE.

Behold, this queen bed frame is so sturdy it can support us 🙂

It only costs $97 on Amazon Prime and can be deconstructed into 2 31 x 75 inch flat and lightweight pieces that are easy to store and to move through the narrowest hallways.

What’s better is – the queen frame can be separated into 2 cot sized beds or 2 backless sofa bases. Just add a nice foam mattress and cover and you can have:

  • an L shaped sofa
  • 2 narrow full length twin beds
  • a queen size bed
  • 2 backless chairs

That’s not all! With this mattress (which I have not yet tried) the folded mode allows you to create a backless seat. You can also take it on a camping trip for luxurious comfort.

AMAZING! Total price for bed frames, 2 mattresses and delivery on Amazon Prime is $300 (queen (2 31 ix 75 inch) frame + 2 33 x 75 inch fold up mattresses). The biggest bonus is that you can make one room into two with no construction what so ever.

BTW – I am not selling this furniture.

Vladimir Putin Unifies the World

Putin unifies the world

A negative example can be just as powerful as a positive one. One example is how Putin unifies the world, sowing madness and mayhem. Through Putin’s puppeteering we have accepted a heinous person as the leader of our nation. He jokes about nuclear war with other national leaders at his Key Biscayne resort, shares classified information in public places, puts enemies of working people in leadership positions, fights against affordable healthcare, plans to gut Social Security, Medicare and public schools.

In support of racism, Trump attacks immigrants to the US including medical doctors and other much needed technical professionals. He doesn’t care how many die from disease or malnutrition.  There are few people who support Trump, indeed the nation and the world are unified against him. From Republicans and billionaires, to poor in rural communities, to most minorities and women, the voice of the people is powerful.

Putin unifies the world with puppet Trump as a negative example. It’s having a positive effect. An exceptional new process is emerging. It will make our country and our planet healthier. Our new found unity will drive creation of a sustainable country with security of food, housing, healthcare and green energy. Thank you, Vladimir Putin.
