For the first time in over 10 years, storm drains on our street have been cleaned by local drain specialists. So instead of flooding in what we used to call Lake Brindisi style, the street drains effectively and dries out in a reasonable amount of time. This ultimately reduces the likelihood of flood damage to the homes on our street.

Regular Storm Drain Cleaning can prevent major property damage and loss of housing.
Going a step further, we can reduce village flooding by connecting street rain accumulation to our existing hydraulic canal, which is currently choked with weeds and trash.

The Hydraulic canal is less than 0.1 miles from the corner of Pleasant Ave and King St. So maybe we can get together and keep it clean and flowing when necessary into the Mohawk River rather than adding to flood hazard.
Using our municipal budget wisely to prevent disaster will save time, money and housing thus preventing the major flood disasters that are occuring in so many places.
